1. Analogy
Q. 4 : 20 :: 6 : ?
Method: Find the relationship in the first pair, apply it to the second. Here 4² + 4 = 20. So 6² + 6 = 42.
Answer: 42.
2. Classification (odd one out)
Q. Rose, Lotus, Marigold, Mango — which is the odd one?
Method: Find the common category and the exception. Rose, Lotus and Marigold are flowers; Mango is a fruit.
Answer: Mango.
3. Number series
Q. 2, 5, 10, 17, 26, ?
Method: Check the differences: +3, +5, +7, +9 … so the next difference is +11. 26 + 11 = 37. (This is the pattern n² + 1.)
Answer: 37.
4. Coding-decoding
Q. If CAT is coded as DBU, how is DOG coded?
Method: Each letter shifts +1 (C→D, A→B, T→U). Apply the same to DOG: D→E, O→P, G→H.

5. Blood relations
Q. Pointing to a man, a woman said, “His mother is the only daughter of my mother.” How is the woman related to the man?
Method: “The only daughter of my mother” is the woman herself. So his mother is the woman.
Answer: Mother.
6. Direction sense
Q. A man walks 5 km North, turns right and walks 3 km, then turns right and walks 5 km. How far is he from the start?
Method: North 5 → East 3 → South 5. The North and South cancel out; only 3 km East remains.
Answer: 3 km.
7. Syllogism
Q. Statements: All cats are dogs. All dogs are animals. Conclusions: (I) All cats are animals. (II) Some animals are cats.
Method: Chain the statements: cats ⊂ dogs ⊂ animals, so all cats are animals (I follows). If all cats are animals, then some animals are certainly cats (II follows).
Answer: Both conclusions follow.
8. Mathematical operations (symbol substitution)
Q. If + means ×, × means −, − means ÷, and ÷ means +, then 4 + 8 × 6 − 2 ÷ 3 = ?
Method: Substitute first: 4 × 8 − 6 ÷ 2 + 3. Apply BODMAS: (4×8) − (6÷2) + 3 = 32 − 3 + 3.
Answer: 32.
9. Cube & dice
Q. On a standard dice, 1 is opposite 6 and 2 is opposite 5. What is opposite 3?
Method: On a standard dice the opposite faces sum to 7. So 3 is opposite 4.
Answer: 4.
10. Mirror image (non-verbal)
Rule: In a mirror placed vertically, left and right are interchanged while top and bottom stay the same. Some capital letters look identical in a vertical mirror: A, H, I, M, O, T, U, V, W, X, Y. Remembering this set lets you eliminate wrong options instantly. Water images are the opposite — top and bottom flip, left and right stay. These two types reward figure practice more than theory, so drill them from previous papers.

Reasoning rewards drilled reflexes, not fresh understanding. A realistic, honest plan:
